How was I to know that Philadelphia area Traffic Reporters would so quickly embrace S Ex as the alternate name for the Schuylkill Expressway.
They appear to be very quick in seeing the humor in the new name. It sure makes for more interesting traffic reports but I wonder what out-of-town visitors think about these somewaht risque ramblings. Following are a few recent excerpts from our local reporters:
Heard on Fox News, "If I were you I would avoid the S Ex in South Philly this morning, that is, if you don't like tie-ups."
On WCAU, "Yes, the S Ex is good in both directions this evening. No problems to report."
On WPVI, "For some unknown reason it seems that the S Ex is bad every night in this part of Gladwyne."
And recently on KYW, "The S Ex is quite slippery this morning especially as you enter the Conshohocken Curve. Please take it very, very slow."
Can you say double entendre. Please let me know of any interesting traffic reports you hear now that the word is out about the S Ex in the Philadelphia area.
