When my wife learned that there was a snow storm bearing down on Philly she asked the family who wanted to stay and who wanted to go. After learning that her mother was planning to escape to Mexico my daughter chose to leave. My son, not at all enthralled with foreign food, chose to face the storm. And of course I would do what any true Philadelphian would do with an impending snow storm, start shopping.
Thinking ahead I decided after watching last night's Action News weather report that I would need to take the day off. I wanted to be sure that I was fully prepared for the pending storm. First and most important you must purchase the basic provisions, milk and bread. If your a novice to Philly snow storms you'll quickly learn that milk and bread disappear quickly from the local Wawa. As you can see, from the practically full refrigerator, advanced planning served me well today. After a day of sledding little Chris prefers a grilled cheese sandwich with Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup. A chip off the old block. We head for the aisle and again find plenty of provisions.
After grocery shopping we get an early start on commandeering games and movies for what we know will be a lot of down time spent indoors. EB Games is located right next door to the super market and Chris is rewarded with many available choices. We then head to our local movie rental store to stock-up on a few recent releases for some greatly anticipated cozy times in front of the television.
With the basic grocery shopping finished and plenty of indoor entertainment in hand we head home to prepare for tomorrow's highly anticipated winter storm. Finally.
